If you consider yourself an American, Today is that special day to celebrate our disfunctional relationship with Mexico.
Cinco De Mayo is the celebration of Mexico's defeat of French Troops and the ouster of Napoleon's puppet Maximillian in 1862. Lead by the brave General Zartagosa and Portofino Diaz, outnumbered, Mexico defeated the technologically advanced French. The Mexicans were also supplied by arms delivered to the boarder by U.S. General Sheridian which arrived at the front just in time. So really Cinco De Mayo ought to be a time to celebrate US-Mexican cooperation; instead, the Mexicans here and abbroud continue to foster resentment.
